WORK + HOME - the life of an artist
Proposed Project Location: Santurce, San Juan, PR.
Role: Student for Revit Course at UPRRP
Originally developed in my 2nd-year of Architecture Design class, this project was reimagined and rebuilt in my 5th-year in a Revit class as part of a software mastery assignment.
All 2D plans and 3D visuals shown were created entirely in Revit and some enhanced with Photoshop.
Work + Home is a residential-atelier designed to merge daily life with artistic practice, enabling artists to live, create, and exhibit within a single structure. Located on Santurce’s iconic Calle Cerra—a street renowned for its vibrant murals and creative community—the project responds directly to its cultural surroundings by supporting both private living and public engagement.
The first and second floors are dedicated to the residence, with living areas and the master bedroom arranged to ensure comfort and retreat. Thoughtful circulation design ensures privacy is maintained, even as the project opens itself to the public. The third floor is conceived as a versatile studio space that can transform into a gallery or exhibition venue, allowing the artist to share their work directly with the surrounding community.
By weaving together domestic life and artistic production, Work + Home redefines the boundary between personal and professional, inviting the city into the creative process without compromising the sanctity of home.
