WORK + HOME - the life of an artist
Proposed Project Location: Santurce, San Juan, PR.
Role: Student / Revit Designer
Originally developed in my 2nd-year Environmental Design course at the University of Puerto Rico, this project was reimagined and rebuilt in my 5th-year Revit course as part of a software mastery assignment. All visuals shown were created entirely in Revit.
Work + Home is a residential-atelier designed to merge daily life with artistic practice, enabling artists to live, create, and exhibit within a single structure. Located on Santurce’s iconic Calle Cerra—a street renowned for its vibrant murals and creative community—the project responds directly to its cultural surroundings by supporting both private living and public engagement.
The first and second floors are dedicated to the residence, with living areas and the master bedroom arranged to ensure comfort and retreat. Thoughtful circulation design ensures privacy is maintained, even as the project opens itself to the public. The third floor is conceived as a versatile studio space that can transform into a gallery or exhibition venue, allowing the artist to share their work directly with the surrounding community.
By weaving together domestic life and artistic production, Work + Home redefines the boundary between personal and professional, inviting the city into the creative process without compromising the sanctity of home.
